PigLet

PigLet is a one-bedroom converted piggery in the parish of Gwennap, set in mid-Cornwall's former tin and copper mining country. It suits a couple, with a sofa that opens as an occasional bed for a third guest if needed.

Inside, a bright open-plan room combines the kitchen, dining and living areas. Patio doors open from both the living room and the double bedroom onto decking at the back. The layout is compact and modern, geared to relaxed stays rather than formal entertaining.

Outside, the substantial decking catches the evening sun and looks out across open fields. Private parking is on site. Wildlife is part of the package here - the local fox sometimes crosses the garden at tea-time.

The location is rural rather than coastal, with Portreath Beach the nearest stretch of sand at around 7.4 km. Trevaunance Cove and Trevellas Cove follow at roughly 10 km. Gwennap Pit (where John Wesley preached in 1773), Carn Brea and Carn Marth (one of Cornwall's highest points at 235 m) all sit within easy walking or cycling distance via the traffic-free mineral tramway trails. Truro, Falmouth and Perranporth are within a short drive.
