Fernleigh Cottage

Fernleigh Cottage is a three-bedroom terraced property in St Mabyn, a small village set back from the North Cornwall coast between Bodmin and Wadebridge. It sleeps five across a double, a twin and a single, with a single shared bathroom - a layout that works for a small family or a couple with older children plus a guest.

The cottage includes Wi-Fi, parking, a log fire and the usual appliances: dishwasher, washing machine and a fitted kitchen. The enclosed rear garden has a patio area and is sized for a family meal or a dog walk rather than larger entertaining. Up to two dogs of any size are welcome.

St Mabyn itself has a traditional pub and village store within a short walk of the cottage. Wadebridge is about a twelve-minute drive, and from there the Camel Trail runs through to Padstow and Bodmin along the former railway line - a good flat option for cycling or a walk. The nearest beaches are Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, all within about eight miles.

North Cornwall's food scene is unusually dense around here. Padstow sits within a 20-minute drive, putting Rick Stein's restaurants, cafe and deli in easy reach, and Port Isaac - home to Restaurant Nathan Outlaw - is a similar distance.
