Evergreen

Evergreen is a four-bedroom dog-friendly cottage at Rinsey, near the hamlet of Ashton, 400 metres from Porthcew (Rinsey Cove) on Cornwall's south coast. The property sleeps six - five adults and one child.

Four bedrooms include two king-size doubles, a large single (4ft bed), and a child's single. A bathroom upstairs has a bath with shower over, and a ground-floor shower room provides step-free access. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a dining area, with a separate kitchen and utility room with WC. Central heating supplements the fire.

Off-road parking for two cars and an enclosed garden with barbecue give the property a self-contained feel. Porthcew (Rinsey Cove) is a National Trust beach reached by a steep cliff path, with clear water and mining heritage visible in the surrounding cliffs. Praa Sands, a long south-facing sandy beach with lifeguards and surf, is 1.7 km west.

The cottage sits in open countryside between Helston and Marazion. Tregonning Hill rises directly behind the village - the site where William Cookworthy first identified china clay deposits in the 1740s - and gives wide views across Mount's Bay. St Michael's Mount is about 5 miles east, and Porthleven is about 5 miles south-east. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Saturday changeover.
