Crown Mine Cottage

A two-bedroom stone cottage in St Just, renovated to retain exposed beams and a wood-burning stove, sleeping 3 in a king and a double. The open-plan ground-floor living space leads to a patio with BBQ, and the village pub is around the corner. Priests Cove, a working fishery at Cape Cornwall, is 2km away, and Gwynver Beach is 2.7km.

Geevor Tin Mine Museum is 1.5 miles for the area’s mining history. Dog-friendly with parking, dishwasher and washing machine. and the property is 1 mile from the coast. Originally the centre of the tin mining industry, disused engine houses are dotted about the town. To learn more about the industrial past, head 1.5 miles to the Geevor Tin Mine Museum where you can view mining artefacts, photographs, and mineral displays. From the cottage, it’s less than a mile’s walk to the dramatic coastline at Cape Cornwall. Bird lovers can enjoy spotting migratory birds, but if you fancy a dip in the sea, make the 2-mile walk to the Priest’s Cove, a pretty sheltered spot and working fishery.

Spread over two floors, the ground floor is where you’ll find the open-plan living space with lounge/kitchen/diner combined. A wood-beamed ceiling and neutral tones create a relaxing atmosphere in the lounge and after a long day of exploring, you’ll want to kick off your shoes and sink into the leather sofa, in front of the woodburner. Soft furnishings, lamp lighting, and artwork on the walls all add to the sense of homely comfort. Overlooking the lounge is a bright kitchen where you can prepare a delicious meal and then serve it at the dining table with seating for four people. From the ground floor, stairs lead to the first floor where the two bedrooms are located. Featuring a king and double bed, both are light and airy and have windows that invite you to stop and gaze at the countryside views. There’s also a cheerful bathroom with a roll-top bath on this floor.

Back on the ground floor, there’s an outdoor patio where you can enjoy morning coffee at the garden table or come evening, light the BBQ sit back with a cool drink. But if you’re not in the mood to cook, the local pub is just around the corner.
