Cowries Retreat

Cowries Retreat is a single-storey two-bedroom cottage in St Merryn, sleeping four on the north Cornwall coast. The layout suits a small family or two couples, and the fully enclosed garden makes it practical for guests bringing up to two dogs.

Inside, a large lounge/diner forms the heart of the cottage with space to relax, read or play games. The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, and an adjacent utility room houses the washing machine along with storage for bicycles and outdoor kit. The two bedrooms - a king-size and a twin with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as a king-size on request - share a family bathroom and a separate shower room. Wifi is provided throughout.

Outside, the enclosed lawn garden has a BBQ and space for children to play, with a tap for rinsing sandy paws after beach walks. Off-street parking is on site.

The nearest beaches are Porthcothan Bay (3.2km), Treyarnon Bay (3.4km) and Harlyn Bay (3.6km), all within the Seven Bays stretch of coast. Padstow lies 4.5 miles east, with its shops, gastro pubs and restaurants, the Rock ferry and the Camel Estuary. Cyclists can pick up the Camel Trail from the town. Camel Creek Family Theme Park, 3.5 miles away, has rides, an animal area and a 5D cinema for wet-day options.
