Costentyn, Tor Down Quarry

Costentyn is a lodge at Tor Down Quarry near St Breward, set on Bodmin Moor at around 700 feet above sea level. The property comes with a private hot tub and access to two private lakes stocked with brown trout and common carp, suitable for wild swimming or catch-and-release fishing.

Inside, two bedrooms accommodate up to 5 guests - a double and a triple bunk with a 4-foot double below and single above. A bathroom with shower, WC, and basin serves both rooms. The open-plan living area combines kitchen, dining, and sitting space, with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, and washing machine. WiFi, a TV, DAB radio, and DVD player are provided.

The garden has outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and ample off-road parking. An outside tap near the entrance handles muddy boots and paws - up to 3 pets are welcome. The hot tub is private to the lodge. Other lodges on the site can be booked together for larger groups of up to 23.

St Breward village is about a mile away, with a pub - the Old Inn, one of Cornwall's highest - and a village shop. Rough Tor, one of Bodmin Moor's two highest points, is within walking distance. Tregardock Beach, a remote sandy cove reached by a steep 15-20 minute path from the cliff top, is 8.8 km away. Port Gaverne, a sheltered cove near Port Isaac with calm water for swimming and kayaking, is 9.6 km. The north coast beaches and Wadebridge are about 20 minutes by car.
