One-bed mid-terrace cottage on the Cardinham Woods self-catering complex, bookable through Toad Hall or Sykes. Sleeps 2 in a king. The cottage sits inside Cardinham Woods itself - 650 acres of Forestry England pine and broadleaf woodland, 4 miles east of Bodmin.

Inside the layout is open-plan: living-kitchen on the ground floor with wood burner, bedroom and shower room above. A Cornish welcome hamper, toiletries and wood-burner starter pack arrive with you. Wifi, washing machine and EV charging on site.

Outside, the private garden holds a wood-fired hot tub and seating. The on-site woodland spa - shared across the complex by exclusive guest access - adds a sauna and a second, larger hot tub. Private parking sits beside the cottage. Two dogs welcome and short breaks run year-round.

The location suits walkers and mountain bikers over beachgoers. Forestry England's four waymarked trails (easy to moderate, 1 to 4 miles) and the red and blue mountain-bike loops all leave from the Cardinham Woods Cafe car park, 5 minutes on foot from the door. Lanhydrock House is 2 miles south, and the A30/A38 junction 5 minutes by car opens the rest of Cornwall. Closest beaches are Carlyon Bay and Readymoney Cove at 15-16km.

Best for a couple wanting a hot tub, forest trails and Bodmin Moor within driving range. Less good for anyone expecting coast on the doorstep - reach the sea, and you're doing a 25-30 minute drive each way.
