The coast path from Cape Cornwall runs south past Botallack and the Crowns engine houses, part of the UNESCO Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. This stretch of cliff-face mining remains is among the most dramatic in Cornwall, particularly in late afternoon light. Geevor Tin Mine and Levant Mine, both open to visitors, are within a few miles north.

St Just's market square has independent shops and two pubs. Land's End Airport is 4 km away. The Minack Theatre is about 14 km south along the coast, and St Michael's Mount roughly 19 km east.
