Buntings

Buntings is a two-bedroom cottage at Trenale, a rural hamlet half a mile inland from Tintagel on the north Cornwall coast. It sleeps four, welcomes dogs with access to a paddock and sits among a group of eight cottages sharing the grounds.

Inside, the cottage has one bathroom, a washing machine and wifi throughout. The accessible ground-floor layout and updated interior suit a small family or a couple travelling with friends. Each of the eight cottages on the site has its own character rather than following a uniform design.

Outside, private parking and a garden form part of each cottage, and a shared swimming pool sits on site. A paddock gives dogs space to run. Bossiney Cove, where a sandy beach emerges at low tide, is around a 20-minute walk. The surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand is a 10-minute drive, with Boscastle's National Trust harbour 2.5 miles away.

Tintagel village is less than a five-minute drive or an easy walk, with its shops, pubs and restaurants alongside the clifftop ruins of Tintagel Castle and Merlin's Cave below. Rocky Valley, a short coastal valley cut through by a stream, sits nearby and ends at the cliffs. Camelford, 4.5 miles inland, has a leisure centre with a swimming pool.
