Carbis Bay beach - a 500-metre arc of sheltered sand with seasonal lifeguards and water sports hire - is a short walk downhill. Porthkidney Beach, a wide dune-backed strand popular with birdwatchers, is 1.6km away.

Carbis Bay sits on the coast road between St Ives and Hayle. St Ives is a 25-minute walk along the coast path or one stop on the branch line from the rail halt in the village. The Carbis Bay Hotel, which hosted the 2021 G7 summit, is on the headland above the beach.
