Babes Cottage

Babes Cottage is a converted piggery on Caerkief Farm in Goonhavern, 3.3km from Perranporth Beach. The cottage sleeps 4 in a single open-plan space, which means it works best for one family or two adults sharing rather than two separate couples. Dogs are welcome and the farm setting gives them space to stretch.

The conversion has been done with care. There is an enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue, and the property has direct access to a shared recreation field - useful if you have young children who need space to run. Off-road parking for one car is provided. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, and EV charging is available on site, which is useful in this part of Cornwall where charge points are limited. Changeover is Saturday.

Perranporth is under 10 minutes by car. The beach runs for nearly 3 miles and has consistent surf - the surfing is better suited to beginners and intermediate riders than anywhere on the north coast. Perranporth town has a cluster of cafes, a Co-op, and a takeaway strip along the beachfront. Trevellas Cove, a quieter inlet with a small beach, is 5.7km, and Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes is 6.1km.

Best for families with dogs or young children who want a low-cost rural base near Perranporth. Less suitable for couples wanting a private retreat or anyone expecting a traditional cottage aesthetic - the open-plan layout suits a family group rather than two people.
