Three-bedroom lodge at Notter Mill, an inland holiday park on the river Lynher about 4 miles north of Saltash. Sleeps six between a king-size, a twin, and a bunk room. The Tamar Bridge and the route into Plymouth are 5 miles east, and Whitsand Bay sits 10km south.

The lodge is single-storey with one bathroom, an open fire in the sitting room, and a private patio off the garden. Two dogs welcome. No wifi at the lodge, no dishwasher, no washing machine - this is a get-away-from-the-screens base, not a work-from-home setup. The pool, tennis court, kids' play area, and a stocked fishing stream are all on the wider Notter Mill estate.

Notter Mill sits between the Whitsand Bay coast and the wooded Tamar valley, so you have two characters of day out within easy reach. Whitsand Bay's 3-mile sandy beach is a 20-minute drive south via Crafthole and Freathy, with steep cliff steps down. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and the colour-washed villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are 12km south-east. Plymouth, the Barbican, and the National Marine Aquarium sit just over the Tamar Bridge.

Best for families wanting pool, tennis, and a fishing stream on site, with the beach a short drive away. Less good for couples wanting sea views from the door, or anyone needing wifi for remote work.
