12 St Petrocs
cottage in Padstow
3-bed lodge in 21-acre holiday park near Padstow, dog-friendly, sleeps 6
Contemporary lodge in a 21-acre holiday park on the fringes of Padstow, 2 miles south of the harbour. Sleeps six across three bedrooms (1 double with en-suite, 2 twins). EV charging point and parking for two cars. Two dogs welcome.
Open-plan living lit by large picture windows. French doors open onto wraparound decking for outdoor dining. Electric wood burner-effect fire, Smart TV, dishwasher, washing machine. WiFi included. The park has a seasonal on-site restaurant, walking trails, and cycling tracks within the grounds.
Padstow is a 5-minute drive or a brisk walk down. Rick Stein opened his first Seafood Restaurant on the harbour in 1975 and runs several restaurants here now, alongside Paul Ainsworth's Michelin-starred No. 6 and Prawn on the Lawn. The Padstow Museum covers the town's history and the Obby Oss tradition. May Day brings the Obby Oss festival - one of Cornwall's oldest folk traditions, with folk music and dancing through the streets.
The Camel Trail runs 18 flat miles from Padstow harbour through Wadebridge to Bodmin on the old railway line. Bike hire is at the trail head. The Camel Estuary's Tregirls Beach (dogs off-lead) and St George's Cove are walkable from town.
For Seven Bays surf, Trevone Bay is 2.9km north (lifeguarded summer, blowhole). Harlyn Bay (3.8km) is the family-friendly sheltered surf beach with the Harlyn Inn at the top. Daymer Bay (4.6km, across the estuary) is shallow and family-friendly.
Best for: families and dog-walkers wanting holiday-park amenities + Padstow's food and beaches without staying in town. EV drivers. Less good for: anyone wanting a town-centre cottage feel - this is a park lodge, not a harbour cottage.
