Bodmin & Wenford Railway runs Santa by Steam specials throughout December on its heritage steam line between Bodmin General and Bodmin Parkway. Children meet Santa and his elves on the train and receive a soft plush toy. The ride takes about 50 minutes through the Cornish countryside.
A more immersive option includes gingerbread cookie rolling in a static Victorian coach before boarding the train with Santa for a shorter ride, then finishing back in the coach to decorate cookies. The heritage steam setting adds genuine character - this isn’t a theme park Santa, it’s a proper railway.
