Trevone Bay

padstow

Trevone Bay sits near Padstow on the north Cornish coast, a sandy family beach flanked by limestone cliffs on both sides and notable for the natural blowhole in the western cliffs — particularly dramatic at high tide when rough seas force water up through the formation. The location’s golden dunes and pristine waters appeal to travelers seeking a classic Cornish beach experience.

Trevone Bay’s beach is great for families since it gives kids lots of room to run about and explore. There are many rock pools full of marine life, and the shallow waters close to the coast are ideal for swimming and canoeing. Throughout the summer, lifeguards are on duty to keep all beachgoers safe. Excellent amenities at the beach include a car park, restrooms, and a café.

The regular waves and surf-friendly conditions make this place popular for bodyboarders and surfers alike. Because of the bay’s position, surfers of all abilities can find waves there, especially in the winter. Everyone can try their hand at surfing because there are nearby surf schools that provide instruction and equipment rentals for beginners. The rugged surroundings make for excellent coastal walking; the South West Coast Path gives access to neighbouring headlands and bays with expansive sea views.

One of the unique features of Trevone Bay is the presence of a natural blowhole located on the cliffs to the west of the beach. This geological formation is particularly impressive during high tide when the sea conditions are rough, as the water is forced up through the hole, creating a spectacular spout.
