Sandymouth Beach
Sandymouth Beach is a vast, National Trust-managed beach on Cornwall’s north coast close to Bude. It is well-known for its wide sandy beachfront, spectacular cliffs, and great surfing conditions. With a variety of recreational options and a dramatic natural environment, this beach is a favorite with families, surfers, and nature lovers. The beach itself is a huge stretch of golden sand that is especially striking when the tide is low and it runs for miles. Towering cliffs and striking rock formations, such as the well-known “Steeple Rock,” which rises suddenly from the sand, flank the area. Along with affording sweeping views of the coastline, the South West Coast Path goes along the cliffs and gives access to excellent hiking and walking routes.
Sandymouth Beach is easily accessible, a National Trust parking lot is just a short stroll from the shore. Despite some steep sections, the well-maintained path to the beach is accessible to the majority of visitors. Public restrooms and a seasonal café offering light fare and refreshments are among the amenities. Throughout the summer, lifeguards are on duty to provide a secure swimming and surfing area.
Excellent surf conditions at Sandymouth Beach are another reason for its popularity among surfers of all skill levels. This location is well-liked by both novice and expert surfers because of the reliable and strong waves. Popular water sports include bodyboarding and others.
