Hannafore Beach
Found in the seaside town of Looe on Cornwall’s south coast, Hannafore Beach is a rocky shore known for its extensive low-tide rock pools, views across to Looe Island nature reserve, and dog-friendly access year-round. The majority of the beach is rocky, with some areas having coarse sand and shingle. During low tide, a large expanse of these rock pools becomes visible. With the abundance of marine life, including crabs, starfish, and anemones, the place has become a popular destination for families and nature lovers.
Beautiful views of Looe Bay and Looe Island, sometimes referred to as St. George’s Island, may be seen from Hannafore Beach. The island, reachable by a short boat ride, is a nature reserve particularly notable for its seabirds. The beach’s west-facing orientation makes it a good spot for watching the sun set over the bay.
Hannafore Beach has handy amenities, including a promenade with benches, cafes, and public restrooms extending along the shoreline. There is parking close by, making it convenient for guests. A benefit for families vacationing with their furry friends is that the beach is pet-friendly, accepting dogs all year round.
